this website is mainly focused on my visual art.
if you peel the skin back from my visual art,
it often has music in it.
i write. i began writing
in my 10th year of undergrad to make sense of
among other things why it took me 10 years to
finish undergrad. turns out: there were signs.
i still write to make sense of
the world. i'm a technical writer
now which seeps into my personal writing.
i make zines because they are autonomous, intersectional, and
easy to share. I like collaborating on zines.
before I was any other kind of artist,
I was a photographer who drew
pictures of girls in her notebook.
my portrait process is inspired by the
scene scripting which happens within BDSM communities.
I try to honor the emotional space it takes
to be in front of the camera.
that is a
fancy way of saying i always sit down to draw with
the people i am going to work with and talk about what our
shared relationship is with being seen, color, shape,
light, and our bodies. this is often over coffee, but
sometimes its tea.
it is amazing the kinds of beautiful and tender things
you can learn if you bother to listen.
i’m looking forward to being your friend.
